We are Canada's largest food can manufacturer, specialized in 3-piece steel food cans. At our core, we are a family-owned business, driven by a shared commitment to support and elevate the Canadian food industry through reliable, innovative, and locally made steel packaging solutions. Our mission is ambitious yet simple: to make the Canadian food industry independent, one can at a time.

How It All Started: A Canadian Canmaker’s Journey Through Innovation

More than 15 years of experience in the can industry! The business was first established in 2008. Initially, we focused on importing cans for the Canadian food industry, leveraging our presence in the market to import cans from China and distribute them in Quebec, Canada.

A decade later, we uncovered a major opportunity in the Canadian market: the manufacturing of cans. Amid the global pandemic, we were driven by the intention to help Canadians by providing the cans needed for the filling. And so, Ideal Can was founded. We became the first and only canmaking company in Quebec and Canada. We starting by focusing on the maple syrup industry with one clear goal: to provide local companies with a truly Canadian alternative for packaging. Since then, our product range has expanded beyond steel food cans to include industrial and aerosol cans, reflecting our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers.
